I have lived in Indiana my entire life. Yet, every winter I am always shocked by how cold it is. You would think I would get used to it. But nope, I am constantly freezing and wondering why I continue to live somewhere where the winters can drop into the negative temps. Today, I am bringing you a round up of my favorite winter outerwear. I own all of these and find them each to be perfect for the different kinds of winter temperatures we get here in the midwest.
Around the end of fall and the beginning of winter, I usually start out with a heavier jacket. These also work great in the spring. I love this long trench coat (less expensive option here). I always pair it with a big scarf and typically wear this when it is cold and rainy. Also, I love this jacket for those days that are just a bit breezy. This jacket is also great for the rainy, slightly warmer days. On the days when I want to go on a walk, I will typically wear a warm shirt and add on this vest.
Once the really cold temperatures hit, I definitely switch gears and instantly go to my coats! I love this wrap coat and usually start my winters off with it. It is perfect for a cold but not bitter winter day. This coat also took me through some of my pregnancy, which was amazing. I am now wearing this maternity coat, which is perfect for these freezing temperatures.
Before I was pregnant, this winter coat was my go to. It is light weight, but SO warm. I can easily throw it in my bag when I am at the store. I would wear this one most of the winter. However, there are definitely occasions when I bust out this coat. It is perfect for those freezing cold days, especially when temperatures drop in the negatives. I wore this coat a lot as well in college when I would have to walk to class!
