I have been dreading this week for months. I have so much going on and there are a few things that I am just not looking forward to. At all. So instead of dwelling on all of the negative, I decided that I would set my week up for success and find some ways to motivate myself to push through some appointments that are less than ideal.
I’m not one who handles nervous energy well, so I am going to change direction. My worries at this point are pointless. So, with that being said, I am going to at least use this extra energy for some motivation!
Setting My Week Up For Success & Finding Motivation:
Start My Morning off Right:
I typically am pretty good at sticking to a morning routine. I find it especially important to get up and get going on those days I’m just not looking forward to. Instead of sleeping in, I will get up, drink some water, and find a positive way to begin my day. I often like to begin my mornings with a bit of Bible time. I will read the Bible, a devotion, or a chapter of a book that is related and pray. Also, I make sure to eat breakfast!
After my morning routine I will exercise. As of late, this usually consists of a walk around my neighborhood or a workout DVD. I have been loving Tracy Anderson’s The Pregnancy Project DVD.
Tackle A Project:
This week I am going to reorganize our kitchen. When I am feeling worried about something I have no control over, I like to try and accomplish something positive. I’m not necessarily trying to distract myself, but to at least have some good come out of it! This is one of my goals for my September Power Sheets, so I am excited to mark it off the list! If you’re curious about Power Sheets, you can check out my post here.
When I’m worried, the last thing I want to do is be around people. However, I often find that laughing and talking with my friends helps me relieve some major stress. I plan on having a date night with my husband this week and planning some girl time with my friends.
Make Time To Wind Down:
Ah, Insomnia. I have a hard time winding down and when I am extremely stressed, I often don’t go to bed until 3:00am. This does absolutely nothing but fuel my worrying. My goal this week is to get some good rest so that way I feel like I can tackle and start my day off right. Before bed I like to take a relaxing bath and read a book that is just for enjoyment. Then, I usually feel like I can get to bed and actually fall asleep.
What are some of your routines for when you’re feeling stressed? I’d love to know. Leave me a comment and send some good thoughts my way this week! Much love!
