Back in college, I could never figure out how to start the introduction paragraphs to my papers. Every single time, I started with the second paragraph and wrote the entire paper before I would write the intro. I needed to forge my way through and dive in before I could even think about the steps to begin. I’ve noticed that I am also like that when it comes to any challenges I’ve gone through. When I find myself thinking of how to take those first steps, I realize that I am procrastinating, because nothing sounds like the right direction to go in. However, when I am figuring out a problem as I go, the direction becomes clear.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, as the year wraps up. I’ve been reflecting on the progress I have made with several of my goals for 2017 and found that the ones I have been most successful at, were the ones that I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. The ones where I just said yes to what I was passionate about, and learned along the way. My intention is to bring that same mindset into 2018 with me. Saying yes to what feels right and going for it.
On a separate note, I am loving this red and black plaid vest for the holiday season. I’ve paired it with a green shirt to add to the festive feel. This vest is a great piece for a casual holiday event or to just add a little extra cheer to your outfit. Coincidentally, this outfit is also matching the color scheme of our baby’s nursery…red & black plaid and dark green. The vest also comes in another color option, here. Also, these boots are on sale for $24.99, however, if you use the code SHOPNOW8 they are $18.74 at JCPenney. These would be a great Christmas gift.
